Alaa Marshan, PhD, is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Surrey since September 2023 and a Visiting Lecturer at London Brunel International College since January 2017, specializing in teaching programming languages with Java. Previously, Alaa served as a Lecturer at Brunel University London from September 2012 to September 2023, where responsibilities included designing and delivering postgraduate modules and supervising various projects. Alaa was also a PhD Research Associate on the Semantic Credit Risk Assessment of Business Ecosystems (SCRIBE) project, focusing on data analysis in banking using Social Network Analysis and Machine Learning techniques. Earlier professional roles include Applied Research Consultant at BTO Research, MIS Administrator at Orient Gate Duty Free, and Development & Training Manager at Future Ray Company. Alaa holds a PhD in Computer Science, an MSc in Business Systems Integration, and a BSc in Computer Engineering.
