Merrill Marker has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. They started their career as an Administrator and eventually became a Supervisor at GIA, where they were responsible for the International Sales division and oversaw the Bookstore, Cafe, and Instrument Showroom. Afterward, they worked as an Operations Manager at Liland's Special Events and then as a Catering and Events Sales Manager at the California Center for the Arts. They joined Hotel Del Coronado as a Catering Sales Manager and later became a Conference Sales Manager. At the University of San Diego, Merrill held multiple positions such as Director of Conference Services, Director of Hospitality, and currently serves as the Senior Director of Student Affairs Facilities. In these roles, they managed various aspects of facilities, operations, budgeting, and staff supervision.

Merrill Marker attended the University of San Diego from 1982 to 1987, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Behavioral Sciences.
