Paul Shearing is a distinguished academic and entrepreneur in the field of chemical and sustainable energy engineering. Currently serving as Chair in Sustainable Energy Engineering and Director of The ZERO Institute at the University of Oxford since July 2023, Paul also co-founded Sention Technologies Limited and Prosemino, holding roles as Co-Founder in both organizations. Prior to these positions, Paul was a faculty member at University College London from July 2011 to June 2023, where responsibilities included Professor, Reader, and Senior Lecturer in Chemical Engineering. Earlier experience includes postdoctoral research at Imperial College London from September 2009 to July 2011. Paul obtained a PhD in Solid Oxide Fuel Cell Development from Imperial College London and a Master of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from the University of Birmingham.
