Rexanah Wyse Morrissette, Esq. serves as the Director of the Executive Office and Strategic Initiatives and the Managing Director of Public Policy at the Children's Defense Fund since July 2022. Concurrently, Morrissette holds the position of Professor at the University of Maryland. Previous experience includes Chief of Staff and Policy & Program Analyst at the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness from August 2018 to July 2022, and an adjunct professorship at the Washington Internship Institute in late 2021. Morrissette's earlier roles include Criminal Justice Policy Analyst for the City of Baltimore and Assistant State's Attorney at the Montgomery County State's Attorney's Office. Education credentials include a Doctor of Law degree with a concentration in Public Service from the University of Baltimore School of Law, alongside a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Criminal Justice with a minor in Human Development from the University of Maryland.
