Eugene Cantor is a Clinical Associate Professor of Accounting & Assurance at the University of Maryland, where responsibilities include developing and teaching courses in taxation, managerial accounting, and financial accounting since August 2015. In addition, Eugene serves as a faculty member at Becker Professional Education, teaching all sections of the CPA Exam since September 2000. Previously, Eugene held the position of Senior Legal Counsel at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency for nearly 28 years and served as General Counsel for The Levenshon Companies. Early career experience includes roles as an Associate Attorney at both the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and Sparber, Shevin, Rosen, Shapo & Heilbronner, and a Legal Honors Intern/Attorney at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Eugene's educational background encompasses a BS in Accounting from the University of Maryland, a JD from Emory University, and an LLM in Tax Law/Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center.
