Cheryl Coffin, M.D. is Professor Emerita of Pathology, Microbiology, and Immunology at Vanderbilt University. Prior to retirement from clinical practice in 2013, she was the Goodpasture Professor of Pathology, Vice Chair for Anatomic Pathology, and Director of Translational Research in the Department of Pathology, Microbiology, and Immunology at Vanderbilt. She held tenured professorships at Washington University in St. Louis and the University of Utah. She also served as Medical Director of Pathology Services and Chair of the Department of Pathology at Primary Childrenās Medical Center in Salt Lake City. Early in her career, Dr. Coffin held faculty appointments at the University of Minnesota and Brown University. The Bangor native received her A.B. from Bowdoin College and her M.D. from the University of Vermont. Dr. Coffin and her husband Ralph Topham live in Surry, Maine. They are members of the Presidentās Club and Stillwater Society, and supporters of the University of Maine Museum of Art, where Dr. Coffin served on the Museum Advisory Board and is a current member of the Museum of Art Alliance. She will receive a degree in studio art from UMaine in 2020.
