Abdel Benssassi is an experienced data architecture professional currently serving as the Head of Data Architecture and Data Architect at the University of Leeds since March 2021. Prior to this role, Abdel worked as a Data Architect at the University of St Andrews and as a Senior Developer and Data Migration Lead at Scottish Water. Abdel's career also includes significant positions at Etihad Airways as Manager of Data and Analytics and Consultant in Data Analytics/BI, as well as experience at BCD Travel and Expedia, Inc. as an Enterprise Master Data Management Analyst/Developer and Program Manager, respectively. Additionally, Abdel was the Business Intelligence Technical Lead at GroupAuto Nederland and a Power System Data Analyst at National Grid. Abdel holds a degree from Coventry University, completed between 2005 and 2008.
