Kareem Dale is currently a Trustee at the University of Illinois System. Prior to that, they served as Special Assistant to the President and Associate Director of Office of Public Engagement from February 2009 to February 2013. In this role, they were responsible for developing and implementing annual strategic plans to include diverse populations in President’s initiatives, as well as briefing the President on policy issues impacting diverse constituencies.
Some of their notable accomplishments include developing and executing a strategic plan for outreach to constituency groups regarding the nomination and confirmation of two U.S. Supreme Court justices, and representing the President by delivering speeches at national and international conventions, such as the United Nations and World Intellectual Property Organization.
Kareem has also been active in mentoring, having served as a mentor for a high school student as part of President’s and First Lady’s diversity mentoring program.
Kareem Dale earned their J.D. from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. Kareem then went on to earn their M.B.A. from the same school. Before attending law school, they earned their B.S. in Advertising from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
