Brian Houston serves as the InventX Manager at the University of Hull, facilitating collaboration between the Aura Innovation Centre Facility and academic expertise to support low carbon SME innovations. In addition to this role, Brian holds positions as a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering and an Academic Specialist, where responsibilities include providing support for teaching, research, and enterprise activities. Previous experience includes working as a Research Associate in the Thermo-fluids and Acoustics Research Group and a Postgraduate Laboratory Demonstrator. Earlier in their career, Brian worked at Houstons Coachworks Ltd. as a tradesman. Academic qualifications include a PhD in The Characterisation and Simulation of Helmholtz Resonators, along with an MEng in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Hull.
