David Lassner has dedicated a significant portion of their career to the University of Hawaii, serving in various roles since 1977, including President, Vice President for IT and Chief Information Officer, and Director of Information Technology. Prior to their time at the University of Hawaii, David Lassner worked as a Research Fellow at the East West Center in 1992 and as a Student Assistant - PLATO Programmer at the University of Illinois from 1974 to 1977. Academically, David Lassner earned a PhD in Communication and Information Science from the University of Hawaii, an MS in Computer Science, and an A.B. in Economics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
