Ishrat Zahan is an experienced research professional currently serving as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Guelph since May 2023. Prior to this role, Ishrat worked as a Scientific Officer at the Bangladesh Sugercrop Research Institute beginning in February 2022 and at the Bangladesh Rice Research Institute on the Transforming Rice Breeding Project from November 2020 to January 2022. Earlier experience includes an internship at KWS Group in 2018 and research assistantships at the University of Hohenheim and Bangladesh Agricultural University. Ishrat holds a Master of Science in Crop Sciences with a focus on Plant Breeding and Seed Science from the University of Hohenheim and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Bangladesh Agricultural University. Currently, Ishrat is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy degree at the University of Guelph.
