Sophie Slaats is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Geneva since September 2024, after completing a PhD at the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics from September 2019 to September 2024. Previous roles include Hoofdredacteur at LingUU Journal and various assistant positions at Utrecht University, contributing to research on language acquisition and educational support. Sophie holds a Master of Science in Cognitive Neuroscience of Language from Universidad del País Vasco and two Master's degrees in Linguistics and Spanish Language and Culture from Utrecht University, alongside a Bachelor’s in Linguistics and Spanish Language and Culture. Educational background is complemented by experiences as a secondary school tutor and sales roles in retail.
