Akshay Babu Karyath is currently a Doctoral Student at the University of Geneva, beginning in February 2024. Previously, Akshay served as a Master Thesis Student at the Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology (RRCAT) from January to August 2023, focusing on the synthesis and characterization of LiTaO3/PVDF piezoelectric composite thin films for biomechanical energy harvesting applications. Akshay also completed a training program at NEST Institute of Fiber Optic Technology Private Limited in October 2022, where knowledge of fiber optic standards, tools, equipment, and testing was gained. In June 2022, a summer internship at the Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad involved simulating metalenses using Lumerical Software by Ansys with the Finite Difference in Time Domain (FDTD) method. Additionally, Akshay participated in a summer school internship at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in June 2019. Akshay holds an Integrated MSc in Photonics from Cochin University of Science and Technology, completed in June 2023.
