Catherine Butler is an accomplished academic with significant experience in research and teaching. Currently serving as an Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer at the University of Exeter since January 2014, Catherine is a co-investigator on major grants focused on the wellbeing impacts of solar PV mini-grid installations in South Africa. Previously, as a Research Fellow, Catherine led two prominent RCUK funded projects examining the dynamics of policy change post-crises and the intersection of welfare, employment, and energy demand. Prior experience includes a Research Fellow role at Cardiff University from January 2007 to December 2013. Catherine holds a BSc in Sociology from Cardiff University, earned in July 2001.
