Jessica Muir

Assistant Professor at University of Cincinnati

Jessica Muir is an Assistant Professor in the Physics Department at the University of Cincinnati, beginning in January 2025, and will work remotely in spring 2025 as a visiting researcher at the Perimeter Institute. Prior to this role, Jessica served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Perimeter Institute from September 2021 to January 2025 and as a Porat Fellow at the Kavli Institute for Particle Astrophysics and Cosmology from September 2018 to August 2021. Jessica completed a PhD in Physics at the University of Michigan, where research focused on astrophysics. Earlier academic achievements include earning a Master of Philosophy in Astronomy and a Master’s in Theoretical Physics at the University of Cambridge, alongside a B.S. in Physics with Astrophysics from Michigan State University. Research experience spans cosmology and experimental high energy physics, with notable contributions to galaxy cluster survey simulations and jet reconstruction algorithms in high energy physics experiments.
