Jorge Garcia-Lara is an experienced academic and researcher, currently serving as the Director of the MRes in Medical Sciences and Research Degrees Tutor at the University of Central Lancashire, along with a role as Senior Lecturer in Microbiology and Ethics and Integrity Lead in the School of Medicine. With a strong background in molecular biology, Jorge has held positions at the University of Sheffield as an Advanced Visiting Fellow and Postdoctoral Fellow. Additionally, Jorge is the founder and former Board Director of Absynth Biologics Ltd., where work focused on developing novel therapies for Staphylococcus aureus and other bacterial infections. Jorge holds a B.Sc. in Microbiology, Biochemistry, and Genetics from Universitat de Barcelona and a Ph.D. in Environmental Microbiology conferred through collaboration with Universitat de Barcelona, Cardiff University, and the University Libre de Bruxelles.
