Jose Mercado, PA-C, serves as an Instructor of Medical Education at the University of Central Florida since March 2019, focusing on didactic and clinical instruction for residents in family medicine, internal medicine, and surgery. With extensive experience in the field, Mercado has been a Physician Assistant at Ocala ENT Specialists since March 2017, specializing in adult and pediatric ENT disorders. Involved with the American Academy of PAs since August 1999 and serving as a Fellow at SPAO-HNS, Mercado previously worked at South Florida ENT Associates, P.A. from 2001 to March 2017 and directed workshops for ENT for the PA-C from 2007 to March 2016. Mercado's career began with the US Army as a Combat Medic and Flight Medic from 1991 to 1999, and as a cadet in the Civil Air Patrol from 1985 to 1991. Education credentials include training at Miami Dade College and Nova Southeastern University.
