Heather Craig is a seasoned Hazard and Risk Analyst at NIWA since June 2018, specializing in hazard and exposure assessments utilizing RiskScape and ESRI software. Prior experience includes serving as Senior Regional Hazards Advisor at Waikato Regional Council, where strategic direction and regional policy initiatives were key responsibilities, as well as acting as Regional Flood Liaison Officer. Heather holds a PhD in Hazard and Disaster Management from the University of Canterbury, where research focused on agricultural loss assessment related to tephra fall. Additional roles include an Air Quality Technician and Junior Geologist, alongside academic qualifications in Environmental Science and Geology.
