Neil Lawrence is the DeepMind Professor of Machine Learning at the University of Cambridge since October 2019 and has been a Professor of Machine Learning at the University of Sheffield since August 2010. Previously, Neil Lawrence held positions at Amazon as Director of IPC Machine Learning and Director of Core Machine Learning from September 2016 to August 2019, where responsibilities included deploying machine learning solutions and leading the machine learning team in Cambridge, UK. Neil Lawrence also served as a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Manchester and had academic roles at the University of Sheffield. Neil Lawrence's early career included a postdoctoral position at Microsoft Research and engineering work at Schlumberger Wire Line. Neil Lawrence earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Southampton.
