Jason Acker is an accomplished academic and research professional with extensive experience in the field of medical sciences and technology commercialization. Since July 2002, Jason Acker has held various positions at the University of Alberta, including Associate Vice-President (Research Integrity Support), Professor, and Associate Professor. In addition, Jason Acker serves as the Scientific Secretary for the International Society of Blood Transfusion and as a Senior Research Scientist at Canadian Blood Services, roles held simultaneously since February 2022 and July 2017, respectively. As a co-founder and director of PanTHERA CryoSolutions Inc. since September 2017, Jason Acker has contributed to innovative projects in the industry. Jason Acker's prior leadership as Chief Technology Officer at Aquila Diagnostic Systems Inc. and involvement as a senator on the University of Alberta Senate further showcase a commitment to research and academic governance. Educational background includes a PhD in Medical Sciences, an MSc in Experimental Pathology, an MBA focused on Technology Commercialization, and a BSc in Physical Sciences, all obtained from the University of Alberta.
