Harold V. Jones

Harold Jones is chief sustainability officer and executive vice president, Eaton Business System for Eaton, a global power management company.

In this role, Harold is responsible for leading Eaton’s sustainability programs comprising of environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives, which include progressing toward the company’s 2030 sustainability targets. Harold also leads EBS, which enables Eaton to operate its businesses and functions in a common way. This involves leading the strategy, deployment and driving accountability of standard processes and practices across the enterprise, spanning all businesses and nearly 92,000 employees worldwide. In both capacities, Harold provides thought leadership and promotes excellence.

He also leads the company’s Quality and Continuous Improvement functions, Environmental, Health & Safety, Global Security, and co-leads Eaton’s Industry 4.0 initiatives.

Harold joined Eaton in 2011 from GE Aviation, then a $20 billion operating unit of GE, where he led the global EHS function, serving as general manager. Harold held various leadership roles of increasing responsibility at GE, including Six Sigma Master Black Belt supporting the Structures Center of Excellence, and manager of EHS for all manufacturing and service operations.

Prior to GE Aviation, Harold led the GE Healthcare EHS program. And before joining GE, he held positions in environmental engineering consulting. Harold also taught civil engineering at Marquette University.

Harold holds a Ph.D., MS and BS degrees in civil engineering from Marquette University, and is a licensed professional engineer.
