Katerina Antoniou

Associate Professor Respiratory Medicine at University General Hospital of Heraklion "PAGNI"

Katerina Antoniou serves as an Associate Professor in Respiratory Medicine at the University General Hospital of Heraklion "PAGNI" since June 2018. Katerina has held various academic positions at the University of Heraklion from 2006 to 2018, including Assistant Professor, Lecturer, and Pre-lecturer. Additionally, Katerina has taken on leadership roles within the European Respiratory Society, currently as Head of ILD Assembly 12 (September 2021 - September 2024) and previously as Chair and Secretary of ILD Group 1.05 from 2011 to 2017. Katerina also coordinated the ILD Working Group for the Hellenic Thoracic Society during the same period. Prior to these roles, Katerina completed an Honorary Clinical Research Fellowship at the Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust in 2005-2006. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Medicine from Naples University and a Doctor of Philosophy focusing on Interstitial Lung Diseases in Respiratory Medicine from the University of Crete. Katerina's experience reflects a strong commitment to research and education in the field of respiratory medicine.
