Lourdes Aviles serves as the Associate Provost and Director of the Computational, Applied, Mathematical, and Physical Sciences at Plymouth State University since August 2004, and as a Professor of Meteorology. In addition, Lourdes has been the Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees at UCAR - The University Corporation for Atmospheric Research since 2019 and a member of the Board of Trustees at Mount Washington Observatory since July 2022. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Atmospheric Sciences from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (1996-2004), a Master of Science (MS) in Physics, and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Physics, both from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez (1988-1996).
