Deborah Szerman is an accomplished pharmacist with extensive experience in both hospital and community pharmacy settings. Currently serving as the Technical Director and Head of Pharmacy Service at Hospital Maciel since 2009, Deborah focuses on patient safety and the rational use of medications, having implemented a fully digital reengineering of pharmacy services. Deborah has worked at Farmashop since 1998, emphasizing safe medication use and patient empowerment. In addition to their practical roles, Deborah contributes to education at Universidad de la República and previously at Universidad CLAEH, mentoring pharmacy students. Deborah played a critical role during the COVID-19 pandemic, managing medication logistics across multiple healthcare facilities and establishing a digital pharmacy service within ASSE's Covid Center. Deborah holds several advanced degrees, including a Master's in Health Business Management and various postgraduate specializations in hospital pharmacy, health management, and quality in healthcare services.
