Lamont A. Harrell, II has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Lamont A. began their career as the Campaign Manager/Finance Director for the Muriel Bowser for Ward 4 City Council 2008 Reelection Campaign in 2008. Lamont A. then served as the Director of Partnerships and Development at the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities from 2008 to 2010. In 2013, they worked as the Deputy Operations Manager at Field Strategies and as the Executive Director at the Fairfax County Democratic Committee. From 2015 to 2016, they were the Deputy Finance Director for Joseline Pena-Melnyk for Congress. In 2016, they joined Nonprofit VOTE as the Partner Engagement Director. In 2017, they founded the Black Game Makers Association and served as its Founder until 2023. Lamont then worked as the Marketing Director for the Military Order of the Purple Heart Service Foundation from 2021 to 2023. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Marketing at Unity Health Care starting in 2023. Lamont's experience includes roles in marketing, campaign management, finance directing, and strategic planning. Lamont A. has also provided consulting services through their own firm, The Harrell Group, LLC.
Lamont A. Harrell, II has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Howard University, which they obtained from 2001 to 2006. Lamont A. also holds a Master's degree in Game Design from American University, which they completed in 2014. Currently, they are pursuing their Masters in Organizational Leadership with a focus on Strategic Communications at Gonzaga University School of Leadership Studies, expected to be completed in 2023. Before attending university, Lamont completed their high school education at Leuzinger High School, although the specific dates are unavailable.
