Ruth Marcec-Greaves is a dedicated professional in wildlife conservation and animal behavior, currently serving as General Curator at Lincoln Children's Zoo since June 2024 and as Adjunct Faculty at Unity College since August 2022. Ruth has extensive experience in amphibian conservation, having held the position of Executive Officer at the Honduras Amphibian Rescue and Conservation Center from September 2021 to June 2024, and previously as Director of the National Amphibian Conservation Center at the Detroit Zoological Society from 2017 to September 2021. Additional roles include Director of the Orianne Center for Indigo Conservation at Central Florida Zoological & Botanical Gardens and Graduate Research Assistant at Mississippi State University and The Memphis Zoo, where expertise in salamander reproduction and conservation was developed. Ruth's academic credentials include a PhD in Animal Physiology from Mississippi State University, a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Florida State University.
