Don Spence, Ph.D., is an experienced academic and professional in the field of plant sciences, currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Flagler College and a Professor of Plant Sciences at Unity Environmental University. With a background that includes roles as a landscape designer and arborist, Don has extensive expertise in plant pathology, teaching courses in plant pathology, Ecoliteracy, and General Biology. Research interests include the health of urban trees and investigations into fungal epiphytes. Don holds a Ph.D. in Plant Pathology from the University of Florida and has held various teaching positions at institutions such as Bethune-Cookman University, Stetson University, and Daytona State College. Additionally, Don served as Vice President of Administration for the Florida Native Plant Society and is recognized as a Board Certified Master Arborist.
