Tammi Wortham is Senior Vice President, Human Resources, for Sun Life U.S. Sun Life is a global leader in financial services, and in the US, it helps clients achieve lifetime financial security and live healthier lives.
Tammi is an externally recognized and accomplished senior executive with a unique blend of Human Resources and Business Executive management, and deep strategic and operational expertise within the financial services/insurance industry. An affiliative and engaged leader, motivator, strategic and out-of-the-box thinker, Tammi brings to HR a focus on Client results and outcomes, paired with enhanced employee experience and the attraction, development, engagement and retention of all levels of talent.
Among her most significant achievements, Tammi spearheaded the creation of a Paid Family Medical Leave program, making Sun Life a nationally recognized pioneer in this space. Tammi served as the Head of HR at Sun Life during the unprecedented Covid19 pandemic, creating innovative programs and policies to support employees’ engagement, morale and safety, while improving the Client experience.
Prior to joining Sun Life, Tammi held senior leadership roles in retirement services and group insurance at Prudential and led annuities operations at The Hartford Financial Services Group.
Tammi serves as the Vice-Chair on the board of United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley, and served previously on the board of Hyde Square Task Force, an organization that amplifies the power, creativity, and voices of youth, connecting them to Afro-Latin culture.
She has a master’s degree in organizational psychology from the University of Hartford and a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Missouri – Columbia.
