Ashley N. Campbell, Ed M, PhD has a diverse work history spanning various organizations and roles.
In 2009, they began their career as an English Educator in the Rochester City School District, where they worked until 2011. During this time, they also served as an English Language Arts Teacher at Urban Choice Charter School from 2011 to 2012.
Following their teaching roles, they transitioned to the Urban League of Rochester, where they worked as a Program Coordinator from 2009 to 2013.
In 2013, Campbell started working at Finger Lakes Community College and Monroe Community College as an Adjunct English Professor. Additionally, at Monroe Community College, they briefly served as a Project Development Assistant for the Title III Grant in 2014.
In 2014, they founded Ballet Afrikana Dance Prep Academy, a training school focused on the fundamentals of movement, where they served as the Founder/Artistic Director until 2021.
Campbell then pursued roles in higher education at the University of Rochester, starting in 2015. Ashley N. held various positions within the university, including Director of Diversity Programming from 2015 to 2018, Manager of User Security and Data Integrity from 2018 to 2021, and Director of EDI Integration, Education, and Programming from 2021 to 2022.
In 2022, they joined the University of Rochester Medical Center as an Assistant Professor of Health Humanities and Bioethics, as well as the Director of Equity and Inclusion for Research and Research Education. Ashley N. continued these roles until early 2023.
Currently, Campbell is the Chief Impact Officer at the United Way of Greater Rochester and the Finger Lakes, where they started in 2023.
Ashley N. Campbell, Ed M, PhD has a diverse and extensive education history. Ashley N. holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Transformative Studies from the California Institute of Integral Studies. Prior to this, they obtained a Master of Science degree in Education, Inclusion, and Urban Teaching & Leadership from the University of Rochester. Ashley N. also completed their Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Rochester, where they minored in "Artistic Activism: World of Dance and Politics". Their education background reflects a strong interest in transformative studies, education, inclusion, and urban teaching & leadership.
