Nicole Cochran is an accomplished program officer with extensive experience in governance, justice, and security, currently serving at the United States Institute of Peace since April 2020. Previously, Nicole held positions including senior program specialist and independent contractor at the same institute, focusing on projects related to justice and security dialogue. Earlier roles include research at the National Center for State Courts, where contributions were made towards strengthening judiciaries through foreign aid analysis, as well as internships that involved qualitative research and report preparation. Nicole holds multiple advanced degrees, including an LL.M. in Comparative Law from McGill University and a J.D. from William & Mary Law School, complemented by a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Mary Washington.
