Kaitlyn Johnson is a skilled researcher with extensive experience in foreign policy and international studies. Currently serving as a Research Assistant at the United States Institute of Peace since March 2020, Kaitlyn focuses on statistical modeling in foreign fighter reintegration and community integration in Central Asia and Burkina Faso. Previous roles include a Pulitzer International Reporting Fellow at the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, where Kaitlyn reported on the Orthodox Church's role among displaced ethnic Georgians, and an intern at the German Marshall Fund of the United States, contributing to research on Russia's interference in democracy. Kaitlyn holds a Master's degree in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and a Bachelor’s degree with four majors from the University of Kansas, including Russian and East European studies. Additional educational experiences include studies at Ivane Javahišvilis Sakhelobis Tbilisis Sakhelmtsipo Universiteti and Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University.
