Hany Besada is a seasoned expert in research and program management with extensive experience in international cooperation, sustainable development, and natural resource governance. Currently serving as the Senior Research/Programme Advisor and Senior Research Coordinator at the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation since May 2018, Hany oversees research initiatives and manages Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) programs aligned with Sustainable Development Goals. Hany has held notable positions, including Senior Fellow roles at the Bill Graham Centre for Contemporary International History and the Columbia Centre on Sustainable Investment, as well as Senior Research Fellow at the United Nations University- Institute for Natural Resources in Africa. With a PhD in Politics and International Studies from the University of Warwick, Hany's work spans multiple organizations and countries, focusing on policy development, knowledge generation, and fostering collaboration for sustainable resource management and investment strategies across Africa.
