Hossam Ed-Deen Allam is a seasoned legal professional and academic with extensive experience in law, countering extremism, and diplomacy. Currently serving as a State Counsel at the Egyptian State Lawsuits Authority since August 2021, Hossam also participates in projects with the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations and holds a scholarly position with the Chevening Awards. Hossam is a lecturer at Al-Azhar University and has been involved with both the Al-Azhar Global Centre for Countering Extremism and the Al-Azhar Supreme Council as a member and academic researcher since July 2015. Previous roles include academic researcher at The Richardson Institute and a research intern focusing on the SEPAD Project. Hossam holds a Master’s degree in Diplomacy and Religion from Lancaster University and a Bachelor of Laws - LLB in Law and Islamic Studies from Al-Azhar University, alongside advanced English qualifications from the British Council.
