Seyda Acar Broekmans is a Senior Scientist in Global Research at uniQure since June 2019, specializing in gene therapies for genetic disorders and developing in vitro disease models. Prior experience includes project management and volunteer work with Leidse Praatjes International, focusing on issues faced by international women in Leiden. Seyda's academic background encompasses guest and postdoctoral research roles at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, studying biophysics and cellular processes, alongside a postdoctoral position at UC Davis analyzing kinesin-5 motor proteins. Previous research in biotechnology at METU aimed to enhance lactic acid yield through enzyme studies. Seyda holds a Master's degree in Biology and a Bachelor's in Biology and Biology Education from Middle East Technical University.
