Javier Diaz-Valdes Alonso is a Senior Specialist on Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning at UNIDO, focusing on energy and climate action since September 2024. Previously, Javier served as a Senior Consultant at the UN Environment Programme, leading the development of the UNEP Monitoring and Reporting Policy and Framework, and as a Senior Expert on Monitoring and Reporting for the African Development Bank's Desert to Power Initiative. Javier's extensive experience includes roles at Education Above All Foundation, the UNODC, and Sustainable Energy for All, with expertise in designing robust monitoring systems, developing Theories of Change, and ensuring quality in project implementation across multiple international organizations. Javier holds two master's degrees in International Cooperation & Development and Business Administration & Management from Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, and a Trade Diploma in Administration & Finance.
