John Warnes has extensive experience in innovation and technology, particularly within humanitarian contexts. Currently serving as a Senior Innovation Officer at UNHCR since October 2015, John has also held roles including Deputy Head of Innovation (acting) and Emergency Technology Officer, focusing on innovation in emergencies. Prior to UNHCR, John worked as a Technology Specialist at CDAC Network and held various positions at Transparency International, including Knowledge Exchange Officer and Programme Officer for Public Contracting. Early career experiences include a trainee role at the European Commission and casework at the House of Commons. John's educational background includes a Master of Laws (LLM) in Telecommunications Law and Regulation from the University of Southampton and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from the University of Bath.
