Karalyn Monteil currently serves as the Head of Programmes & Stakeholders Outreach at UNESCO, where responsibilities include supporting Member States in developing cultural policies and promoting the creative economy. Previous roles include President & CEO of San Francisco Heritage, leading initiatives to preserve the city's architectural identity and manage historic properties. Karalyn also held positions at UNESCO from 2001 to 2021 as a Regional Advisor for Culture in Eastern Africa and a Culture Programme Specialist. Academic qualifications include a Master of Arts in Museology/Museum Studies from the University of Leicester and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Dayton.
