Orestis Velentzas serves as the Climate Mitigation & Banking Lead and Senior Advisor for Net Zero & Sustainable Finance at the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) since October 2022. Prior experience includes roles as Strategy & Consulting Senior Manager and Net Zero & Sustainable Finance Lead at Accenture from July 2015 to October 2022. Orestis held positions at HSBC as Associate in Global Risk and Executive Management Trainee from September 2012 to June 2015, and began a career as a Consulting Analyst at PwC from September 2011 to August 2012. Military service was completed in the Hellenic Army, and early experience includes a Corporate Banking Internship at the National Bank of Greece. Orestis holds a Master of Science in International Management from the University of Bath, a BSc in Business, Management and Marketing Studies from Athens University of Economics and Business, and a Diploma in Banking Practice & Management from LIBF, along with an Erasmus semester in International Business at Tilburg University.
