Piyush Verma is a seasoned professional in the field of energy governance and policy, currently serving as a Senior Governance Expert - Energy at UNDP since July 2022. Previously, Piyush held several prominent roles including Chair of the Joint Task Force on Digitalization in Energy and Vice Chair of the Energy Efficiency Expert Group at the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe from October 2019 to September 2022. Piyush also worked as a Research Analyst at Harvard's Belfer Center, collaborating on US Energy and Climate Policy, and contributed as a Global Future Energy Leader at the World Energy Council. Additional experience includes serving as a Teaching Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School and Group Lead at the International Energy Research Centre. Piyush holds a Master's of Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School and a Ph.D. in Energy Efficiency Technology & Policy from The University of Auckland, along with several other degrees in engineering and technology.
