Jenise Wilkerson is an experienced educator currently serving as a Founding Kindergarten Teacher at Uncommon Schools since July 2024. Previously, Jenise held the position of Founding Kindergarten Lead Teacher and Grade Chair Leader at KIPP North Carolina Public Schools from August 2022 to June 2024, where responsibilities included adapting rigorous curriculum and developing assessments. Jenise also served as a Grade Level Chair, organizing family newsletters and weekly awards ceremonies. Prior experience includes a role as a Kindergarten Teacher at Leadership Prep Canarsie and a Co-Teacher for a founding 1st grade class at Ivy Hill Preparatory Charter School. Jenise's educational background includes a Master of Arts in Elementary Education from Relay Graduate School of Education, a Master of Science in Human Resources Management from Southern New Hampshire University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Shaw University.
