Jacob Awolaja

Coordinator - Global Partnership To Eliminate Hiv-related Stigma And Discrimination at UNAIDS

Jacob Awolaja is a seasoned consultant specializing in research and data management with extensive experience in gender assessments and HIV policy. Currently serving as a Consultant for UNAIDS since June 2020, Jacob has contributed to projects in Sierra Leone, South Africa, Malawi, and Ghana. Previously, Jacob worked with UN Women as a National Co-Consultant, where efforts included developing a tailored gender assessment workplan for Nigeria, conducting focus group discussions, and producing national reports. Additional experience includes research consulting for the African Union, trainee roles at UNAIDS focusing on HIV responses in emergencies, and research analysis for The Global Fund. Jacob's educational background encompasses a Master's degree in Global Health and Development from UCL, a Certificate in Designing Strategies and Project Management from the Geneva Centre of Humanitarian Studies, and a Master's in Pharmacy from the University of East Anglia.
