Szilvia Lehel

Thematic Coordination Lead, Generation Equality Feminist Action For Climate Justice at UN Women

Szilvia Lehel is currently serving as a Project Design Expert for the Global Environment Facility and a gender and environment researcher at the FAO since September 2023. Previously, Szilvia acted as the Regional Gender and Climate Finance Specialist at UNDP from May 2021 to May 2023, enhancing accountability for climate investments and promoting gender-responsive budgeting. Szilvia's earlier tenure at FAO included various roles, such as Gender, Environment and Development Specialist, where Szilvia developed normative products and mainstreamed gender into FAO's Climate Change Strategy. Szilvia also held positions focusing on agricultural policy and resource mobilization, showcasing a strong commitment to integrating gender considerations in environmental and development frameworks. Szilvia's academic credentials include an MSc from The London School of Economics and Political Science, a Juris Doctor from Pázmány Péter Katolikus Egyetem, and a Master's in International Relations and Affairs from French universities.
