Marcus Drosson is a Principal Scientist at Umicore, with a tenure beginning in October 2011, leading the Computational Science team and overseeing projects in data science, materials modelling, and process simulation. Responsibilities include strategic development, recruitment, coaching of new team members, and collaborating on digitalization roadmaps with business stakeholders. Prior positions at Umicore also include Senior Scientist, Senior Project Manager, and Project Manager, where key achievements involved managing simulation projects, enhancing team competencies, attracting funding, and exploring AI applications. Additionally, Marcus serves as a member of the Industry Board at VSC | Vlaams Supercomputer Centrum since November 2016 and held the position of FNRS Research Fellow from October 2007 to September 2011 at F.R.S. - FNRS. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering and a Master's degree in Electromechanical Engineering, both obtained from the University of Liège.
