Alexa Balbo is an experienced professional in environmental health and safety (EHS) with a robust career spanning over a decade. Currently serving as Director and EHS Site Lead at Ultragenyx since October 2021, and previously as Associate Director of EHS in Gene Therapy, Alexa has held various significant positions at leading organizations including Sarepta Therapeutics, Lonza, Momenta Pharmaceuticals, Corning Incorporated, and Triumvirate Environmental. Key responsibilities have included biosafety program management, risk assessments, laboratory safety inspections, and safety training program implementation. With a solid academic background from Bowdoin College, Alexa has developed expertise in regulatory compliance, waste management, and occupational health throughout a diverse professional journey.
