John Kocis has over 30 years of experience in the automotive industry. John began their career in 1985 as an Engine Builder/Machinist at Utica Cylinder Head, working part-time through high school. In 1991, they became a Mold Build Apprentice/Machinist at PTP, working part-time during college and full-time in the summers. In 1993, they took on the role of Regional Sales Manager at BOC Gases. In 1995, they were promoted to Director of Sales at Schwab Industries. In 2003, they became an Account Manager at Magna International and worked with 37 plants and 4 engineering centers. In 2005, they took on the role of Sales and Marketing Director at Quality Metalcraft, developing and executing a plan that took the company from a small prototype supplier to a major production supplier. John also became Vice President of Sales at Fab-All Manufacturing, managing sales staff for a $30 million enterprise. Finally, in 2018, they became Business Development Manager at UHI Group.
John Kocis has a diverse educational background. John graduated with honors from Henry Ford II High School in 1987, where they studied engineering and business. John then attended Macomb Community College from 1987 to 1990, where they earned an associate degree in business, management, marketing, and related support services. John also attended Dale Carnegie Training and PTAC Schoolcraft College, though it is unclear what they studied there. Finally, they earned a BBA in management and finance from Ferris State University in 1992. John also holds a VFR license from Private Pilot Training, which covers aviation, weather, aeronautics, FAA rules and regulations, and flight safety.
