Gianluca De Novi, PhD has a long and varied work experience beginning in 2011. Gianluca was a Researcher and Research Specialist in association with the U. S. Army at the Massachusetts General Hospital. Gianluca also served as a Researcher-Instructor in Radiology and Imaging at Harvard Medical School. In 2014, they were a Scientific and Strategic Advisor at ADM Tronics Unlimited, Inc. and a Founder at Triotech Ventures. Gianluca then became a Member of the Board of Directors/Scientific and Strategic Advisor at SmartPoints Global Medical, Inc. in 2016. In the same year, they began working as a Faculty Instructor of Augmented/Virtual Reality Rendering for Simulation and Gaming at Harvard Extension School. In 2018, they founded XSurgical Robotics and in 2021 they became the Vice President of Engineering at Plymouth Rock Technologies. Most recently, in 2023, they took on the role of Chief Technology Officer at ULedger.

Gianluca De Novi, PhD obtained their PhD in Robotics (applied to surgery) and surgery simulation using Virtual Reality from Alma Mater Studiorum - Università di Bologna in 2011. Gianluca also holds a Master Degree in Electronic Engineering from Alma Mater Studiorum - Università di Bologna, with a field of study in Surgery simulation using Virtual Reality.
