Kristian Mengel is an accomplished professional in the rail and finance sectors, currently serving as a Non Executive Director and Co-founder and Managing Director at UKRL, a leading rail vehicle engineering and fleet management provider established in January 2014. Previously, Kristian held the position of Managing Partner at Bluestar Infrastructure Partners from January 2019 to June 2021, where the focus was on funding solutions and investment management within the European infrastructure sector, particularly in railways. Earlier in the career, Kristian gained extensive experience as Director of EM Credit Derivatives at Citi from August 2007 to July 2014, and worked in credit derivatives at BNP Paribas from April 2001 to August 2007, alongside a role as a Trader at Nykredit from 1998 to 2001. Kristian Mengel holds a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Economics from Syddansk Universitet - University of Southern Denmark, earned between 1992 and 1998.
