Laurence Simon serves as the UIC HR Director at the International Union of Railways (UIC) since January 2017. Previously, Laurence held multiple roles at SNCF from January 2007 to December 2016, including Déontologue and Chargée d'Enquête in the Ethics and Compliance Directorate, where involvement focused on the development and promotion of the SNCF Group's Ethics policy. Laurence also directed the Technicentre de Maintenance de Villeneuve, overseeing approximately 900 personnel responsible for the maintenance of railway cars and locomotives. Other positions at SNCF included Directrice Adjointe with responsibilities for security and industrial operations, and project management for the INNOTRANS World Railway Expo in 2010. Early career experience includes a quality internship at Hurel Dubois from 1988 to 1990. Laurence holds an engineering degree from ISAE-Supméca and completed preparatory and secondary education in France.
