Ron Place is an experienced leader in healthcare and community service, currently serving on the boards of various organizations including the UHS Patriot Support Program, Greater Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce, Avera Heart Hospital of South Dakota, and The Link Community Triage Center. Previously, Ron Place held significant roles as Director for the Defense Health Agency and as Director of the National Capital Region Medical Directorate within the United States Department of Defense. Academically, Ron Place holds a Doctor of Medicine from Creighton University School of Medicine, a General Surgery Residency from Madigan Army Medical Center, and a Master of Science in Military and Strategic Leadership from National Defense University, among other qualifications in the medical field.
