Achuta Kadambi is an accomplished academic and entrepreneur currently serving as an Associate Professor and previously as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at UCLA since July 2018. In addition to academic responsibilities, Kadambi leads the Visual Machines Group, focusing on computer vision, computer graphics, computational imaging, digital twins, Sim2Real, and healthcare applications. As a co-founder of Vayu Robotics, a startup supported by Khosla Ventures, Kadambi is developing a computational imaging stack for vehicle autonomy. Previously, Kadambi held the position of Research Scientist at Intrinsic, an Alphabet Company, from May 2022 to November 2023, and co-founded Akasha Imaging, which was later acquired by Alphabet. Kadambi earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, specializing in interdepartmental studies between the MIT Media Lab and Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
